Titan: The Arena 1.0
In Titan: The Arena you're betting on creatures in a "monster slug-a-thon". Every round a creature is eliminated until only three are left. the game ends at that point and any bets on these surviving creatures pay off. Bets made in the first round are worth 4 points, second round bets are worth 3, third round bets are worth 2 and fourth round bets are worth 1. (You can't make a bet in the fifth and final round.) Players can also make a "secret bet" in the first round that's worth 5 points. As you can only make five bets total in the game you must be very careful. Early bets are worth more but your creatures are less likely to survive. Betting on a creature in the later rounds is safer but you get paid less. Further incentive to betting early is that if you have the most bet on a creature then you are its "backer". This allows you to use that creatures special power whenever you lay a card in front of it.
The game is played in rounds. On their turn players play a single card from their hand by placing it in front of the matching creature (covering up any existing card placed there in this round). Once all creatures have a card in front of them AND there is a unique creature with the lowest numbered card, that creature is removed from the game and a new round begins. (A new row of cards is created in each round, cards played in a previous round have no effect on the current round.)
