Well, I have made the transition from Ireland back to Canada and am settling back into "normal" life. Hopefully I'll be able to shake the trees a little better and get some bigger issues for you in the upcoming months.

While I was away, I didn't really have access to the Usenet newsgroup rec.games.board. Once I got back I was able to check it out and what a shock it was. It seems that my re-printing of a two-year-old article (Disturbing Themes) touched off quite the controversy to the tune of 100 or so messages. As with all online discussion forums, the quality of responses varied greatly.

It always amuses me that some people are able to comment so assuredly about an article that they haven't read. Oh well. In any case, in addition to the well-thought-out posts on that forum, I also received a long letter from Guy McCulloch about this subject that appears in this month's letters column. It's practically a complete article so if you don't normally read the letters but are interested in this subject, I urge you to do so.
